Patterning
I got my 1187 supermag out and patterned it. Does anyone else shoot one? What choke and ammo do you use? I guess I will finish the season with it. John

Re: Patterning
I have an 1187 Super Mag and after tons of shooting and patterning i found Kicks High Flyer tubes with Kent FS shoots the absolute best (and affordable) combo.

J, that can only be found out by shooting different chokes and shells out of your gun. Not being smart but a long time reloader. What may work in your buddies identical gun might not be as good as what you have. If you're lucky and a lot of the hunters in your area shoot the same gun but different set ups see if you can borrow a tube for patterning. It can be time consuming but well worth the end results. My son and i shoot the same deer rifle and each one "perfers" a different brand of brass/powder/bullet combo. Just seems they should be "almost" the same. But hey thats why we have weeks between each season so we dont spend all our time on honey-do list

Re: Patterning
I would try a patternmaster choke. I know all guns are different, but those patternmaster tubes are amazing with standard steel shot. I've never really patterned a gun, but I had one POS Verona shotgun that couldn't hit a bird from 20yrds. Shoot a Benelli M1 with patternmaster choke and it's deadly.
