TDB and a trolling motor
Anyone have any ideas on how to put a trolling motor on a TDB? I'd like to use it for some lake/river fishing this summer. There's no room on the motor support on the boat. Maybe someone already has a setup? If so could you post up a pic??

I dont have any pics but i had a budy that would take a 1/2 inch thick by 6 inch wide and maybe 2 foot long piece of pine or whatever kinda wood and clamp it under the 2 clamps on his outboard. so in a sense you are making you motor board thicker then the wood will stick out to the side and he would mount the troller motor on that. the 2 motors were pretty much side by side. then when done he just took that piece of wood out from the outboard clamps till next time. that way it wasn't a permanent fixture on the boat but will do what you need.

That's a good question, when I take my dh out,I use the anchor system I get to a spot and drift down useing anchor and just move slowly and use the wind...I'm sure I could come up with a bracket useing the rub rails on the side.Rusty

I have a 17 TDB with a spare moter bracket. Its basicly 2 pieses ot 3/4 ply laminated together and fiberglassed then bolted into the side of the stern. then again a cheaper option if your looking to slow your drift. Lefty Kreah use to talk about using an over lenght piece of chain attached to a line to slow down the drift. Maybe a couple window weights would do the same thing.
