what engine?

just got a 14 ft tdb and was wondering what engine would be the best on it. it will most likely have 2 guys in it. was wondering what hp would be the best.

Matt Most TDB owners I know prefer the 25 2 stroke on them

As Jim said a 2 stroke 25hp is the way to go. The 2 strokes are getting harder to find but they are still out there. You can always check craigslist but ebay is a good place too. A really good place to find a used outboard is smalloutboards.com. I had a buddy get a really nice
Johnson 9.9 from them. He has had it for 2 years now. This past duck season was his 2nd duck season with the motor and it hasn't given him any trouble. Good luck with the new TDB and good luck finding an outboard for it

I run a 25 merc 2 stroke for waterfowling then downsize to a 15 Merc 2 stroke for fishing after the season!

Hey Matt if you havent found a motor yet check out smalloutboardmotors.com they have canadian 25 2 stroke mecrury on there alot.
