Wigeon anyone
Was just on a 2 day shoot in MD earlier in the week and still haven't gone through all my pics yet but I started with the wigeon shots that I got since they looked like the came out the best. Was hoping for more flight shots but I think it was just too warm for the critters to fly much.

Nice shots mate, I like that resting widgeon and they are two good views of it.

Re: Wigeon anyone
I really haven't bought anything new in a few years now, still shooting the 7D , 100-400, and 400 5.6
Always thinking about a super telephoto but that's about it "just thinking"
I just put up a new web site over the weekend, check it out..... www.diverdownphotography.net

Thanks Dave !!
I always liked taking pictures with 110 cameras but got my first real camera from my Aunt around 1999. It was a 35mm Minolta with a Sigma 400mm 5.6 lens. I used to take it out seaduckin and got some great pictures, by film camera standards anyway, but when it was time for a digital I got a P&S and with the shutter delay and all it just wasn't the same as an SLR. Made the plunge to a Canon XTI in the spring of 2008 and all hell broke loose $$$ then the 50D then 7D + 3 L lenses and 3 standards. Very happy with what I have now but still dream of a 5-600mm.

I could tell you had a bit of background in film, because you are very good at getting the proper exposure. You really do have some great stuff on your site. Love the airshow pics!! We should get together for some photography once I get another bird lens. Being stuck at 105mm sucks! But I will say that the Nikon lens I have puts out amazing quality, but I'd need to be about 10 feet from birds.
I'm sure you're already aware, but be careful taking your stuff out duck hunting. Thats how I damaged my 20D!
Re: Wigeon anyone
Oh and btw Steve, I'm collecting reference for from some Wigeon decoys, so don't be shy.
Re: Wigeon anyone
Yes, getting the exposure right the first time is key, PS helps a lot too but you can only fix so much before the quality goes down hill and blown highlights never come back.
Must be driving you crazy not having a lens, why don't you pick up a used 300 f4 and Tc
I really don't get that many pictures while out hunting, usually too busy shooting or the weather is too crappy but I almost always have the camera with, just in case. It would just drive me crazy to have a great photo opp and not have the camera. Gear is always in a Pelican case though.

That is the combo I am going to get Steve. Really not many other choices in Nikon, but I just love Nikon cameras. I'm just jammed up money wise right now. Bought a new boat last year, bunch of new gear and I'm working on carving about 40-50 decoys this year. Once I get some debt paid off though, I'll probably use Mr. Visa for a nice telephoto setup.

Definitely! Glad to have you over here! Feel free to show us any good stuff ya get. One of these years when I have a good setup, I gotta go check out them Harli's by the light! Seen them years ago, really neat! I love those Harli pics on your site. Some of the best I think.

I usually get there a few times a year but haven't been yet.
The picture of the single sitting on the rock with it's mouth open and the pair standing on the rocks were taken on my first shoot with my first digital SLR, the XTI. Beginners luck I guess cause while I've of gotten some great ones of the harlies since, I don't think I've matched those two yet.
