Chickathef'in who? LOL! Glad you finally got on board Jay. I swear Virginia got some weird ass hunting laws. Needing a permit to hunt from a concealed sneakbox is crazy.

Its all about location. I've been hunting a lot of different places this year. I hit the sat marshes and yes there is a lot of blacks. But I've a lot seen more mallards in the salt marshes then I ever have. I then head for the woods and it's mainly woodies and mallards with a few blacks mixed in. Wednesday was 1 goose, a and a pair of mallards. Yesterday was a woodie and a drake mallard. Checked my logs, we've had 41 ducks and 2 geese in the boat the year. 10 woodies, 16 mallards, 2 BWT, 6 GWT, 1 pintail, 1 gadwal and 5 blacks.

I wish we had that problem over here. This season has been very very slow on both Blacks and Mallards on the salt marsh.

partner ane i bagged one black--nice bird, one eclipse shoveler, pair of gaddies---Still slow, but it gave the dog something to do today--Tind shift may have helped, and a weak cold front may push some flight birds down--Still have not seen sprig or mallards to amount to anything!
Every day is a different adventure--Bob's grandson is coming to play with us tomorrow! Always good to get kids out on the marsh cheers

Went out yesterday with Stevey to a spot that was full of mallards and blacks just two days ago.....nothing but blacks AGAIN. Shot our one a piece and that was it. I'm gonna take up golfing.
