We were on the X today
Our regular duck season closes tomorrow so went took a ride today to get away from what was sure to be some crowds.
We played the wind and tide game and set up where I thought the birds would want to be. Away from everyone else.
We won.
We were right on the X.
Wave after wave of birds were dropping in.

It could not have been better. We downed a few and Mocha was quick to retrieve our birds.

She did have to work a bit harder to get one that was winged but made quick work of it. You just have to love a dog with drive and determination.

The ocean was also calling today so we took a ride out the inlet and there were birds working in all the usual places.

After we had our fill we decided to head back in to the clam beds and get a few to add to tonights pasta.

Today was just one of those days were everything came together.
Mocha was doing her part bringing the clams back to the boat but dropped one and just watched it on the bottom. She will normally try swimming down to get them but I guess she was just a bit to tired.

Well that's a great second to last day in my book. We will have to see what tomorrow brings.
Good luck out there for those heading out.
